Anybody have some clever, effective ideas on how to raise humidity levels for a ball python in a 20 gal tank?

cover the top of the screen (leaving part of the screen uncoverd for air to get in) with a towel that will help keep humidity. Also spraying once a day will help. What I am doing now that the weather is so dry is putting a humind hide. I just get some sphagnum moss get it wet and put it inside of a hide (usually cold side of the cage). They will go in if they need some extra humidity and the evaporation of the water in the moss will help with humidity.
Hope that helps.

Don't use a light for heat in the winter. If you must, don't set it on the screen top, clamp it to something and shine from the side. Preferably on the side with the water dish!
Use a bigger water dish. I use dog bowls that can be used as a hide. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. This is a large plastic dog dish with one of the side cutouts enlarged. I use smaller bowls for smaller snakes or for snakes that require less humidity. There is a beach towel folded to the shape of the lid covering the screen and and under tank heater on 1/3 of the floor. This is in a 20L tank. Mist occasionally. Let your snake go for a swim when it gets ready to shed. or if it just seems too dry.

Easiest way with minimal dinking around is to get a very small plastic tote (with locking lid) that fits into the aquarium...cut a hole in one corner of the lid big enough for the snake to crawl through....fill with thoroughly moistened sphagnum moss and set on cool side of tank. That's it. The snake will seek out that box when it feels the need for humidity. Once a week, check the wetness of the moss and respray if necessary. Replace if the snake crapped in there.

i am last now
Fill a CLEAN spray bottle with hot water from the tap. it feels hot but don't worry it will be only warm when it becomes a mist. spray mist the inside walls of the aquarium once or twice a day, and the snake. The snake may hiss and bitch and moan. Some enjoy it though. My boas love it and one of my balls does. The other will try to eat your face
