Here is how I set up my tank for my ackies. I'm posting pics so all the ackie keepers can have a look and let me know whats wrong with it before I pick up my ackies. I have lots of crevices on the right side of the tank and on the left I have a cave for them. The left side is about 6 inches deep. The substrate is a sand and dirt mixture. I have all the lights on the tank to dry the substrate, a couple of them will be coming off. Well here they are. You all can be a little nice to me too.

Well, I can tell one thing about Ackies, I'm not being critical and not sure if yours is like this either. BUT, make sure you have all the bottom layer rocks resting on the bottom glass of the aquarium because they dig constantly.

You don't want them digging under a pile of rocks and have it collapse on top of them.

They will hide and sleep under the tighest and in the smallest, tightest rock crevacises (sp) they can find.

Here is a pic from the Mt.Isa region in Queensland where Ackies are found.

cool pic. all the bottom rocks are sitting on glass. Each rock has a dab of aquarium sealant on them. It should take more than an ackie to knock over one of the rocks. :D

looks nice...
scott's right about making sure the rocks are resting on the bottom of the tank...
attaching the rocks was going to be what I was going to chime in with...but you've got that covered
