Ackies and light

I'm setting up a tank for some ackies and I was wondering if they need a flourescent uvb light or is just heat lamps ok for them.

Ours have been doing wonderful for right around 3 years with no UV or flourescent light. We use 75 watt or greater spot lamps to provide basking temperatures of 130-140 degrees.

I've always been under the impression that with good vitimine and calcium suppliments that no monitors need UV.

I've never supplemented a monitor's food, either.
