Had to separate the eggs into two 6" deli cups...

Nice Mark...congrats!

You're not going to be too upset when you only get 29 hatchlings though are ya?

That's all the eggs I counted.

Hehe...

There was one more egg added to the first bin after I took the picture. On the left side, you'll notice an empty spot. It's full now :-).

Thanks guys :) . All the eggs still look great, so I'd say we'll get another 30 babies out of this clutch.

I know a spot where you could literally WALK across the Mississippi...you could THROW them across the channel to me...

Itasca State Park? Been there many times.

Actually I was thinking about an area just south of Dubuque, Iowa and just NORTH of the Palisades State Park...

It's where I duck hunt...can't be more than 2 or 3 feet deep at the deepest other than the channel...

At Itasca, you can walk across the river with nothing more than your shoes off, and your pants legs rolled up to you knees. It's about 5 steps across.

Found a good reason to bump up this thread :D .

The female pictured at the beginning of this thread laid another 26 eggs last night (1 dud, 25 fertile). 8)

I just realized where Itasca is...LOL...(Search button does WONDERS...LOL)...I was thinking Itasca, Illinois (so provincial, I know) which is NO WHERE near the Miss. or any other river for that matter...

I bet you can walk across the Mississippi there...it is where it pretty much comes out of the GROUND, isn't it?
