From what I hear, this is an important step in producing ackies :D .

After having two clutches go bad last year... I REALLY want to see eggs come out of this girl, and see babies come out of those eggs!
(Note to self: Never test out a new incubator on ackie eggs.)

I'd say... it could be a good start, but what you heard is probably just a rumor!
However, a baby would go nicely with the little turd I already have!

Hey - as I recall, that turd was a free turd! I agree - another free turd would go nicely with that one. So you can make some more turds!
These turds are some of my favorite kind... :D

Yep, they're yellows. Reds are a MUCH more intense red, and the pattern is a bit different too.

Hey Mark...Good luck on that!
I was curious what that substrate is? Looks like gravel or chat, is that what it's called? Hell, I dunno too late to attempt thinking.

Quigs...I just noticed you aren't to far away from me. I will be heading to St. Louis in April for some baseball.

It is called "white breeze". It is crushed granite. The largest pieces are all at the top. Underneath what looks like fine gravel is rock solid granite. Ackies love to dig in it, as it holds a wonderful burrow.

Interesting.
Could I convince you to take a couple more pics of the setup, so we could see the whole enclosure?
Where do you get "white breeze"?

hmmm...I thought granite wasn't good to breath in (at least I know for humans)...I guess you've been using it a while with no prob...do other ppl use it?
