I just recently moved into a bigger and better house. That means remodeling has been done, the windows has been removed and new windows has been placed. This leaves me with huge sheets of glass. I was hoping to find suggestion on how to make the glass into some sort of tank, and to make it waterproof at the bottom maybe a good 5 inches up.

Frame the bottom and top so that there is some outside support around the glass...make sure the your pieces are very straight and fit well.
Go to home depot and buy DAP aquarium glue...it's in the paint department (and about half the price of the generic stuff in the pet store)
Glue the bottom sheet into the frame
You want to glue your sheets to your frame...put adhesive on the edges that will contact the other sheets of glass before putting them together. Allow the front and back sheets to be your overlap sheets... after getting the edges glues and straight...use the adhesive to "caulk" the insides of all the corners and the bottom...be liberal...allow a couple days for it all to dry...
You will probably need a bunch of adhesive...it goes very quick when caulking the joints...
Make sure the glass is heavy enough to hold water...but 5 inches doesn't sound like a ton...as long as the tank isn't TOO big.
