Does ANYONE know how I could bond hardwood to the top of aquarium glass?

Can I use glaziers putty (like in windows) safely with reptiles?
I am afraid silicone won't be sturdy enough.
Is there some kind of aquarium glue?

I am planning on removing the existing plastic crap and building custom hinged hardwood, but have never had to bond to glass before (besides replacing window panes).
THANKS!!

There is the glue that they use for some car windows. It is like silicone, but 10 times stronger, although I think it may only come in black. When it cures completely there will be no fumes. I have personally used this stuff and it is tuff!

Go to the live pet department at any wal-mart and they should have silicone for aquariums it bonds real well and is completly safe as long as you let it air out well

Thanks for the tips...

I may try both actually...I have some tank repairs and modifications that I need to make, and have use of both types.
