What is everyone using for substrate? And how long have you been using it? Also, have you had any difficulties with your choice? I have heard that alfalfa pellets are good to use. Is that true?

I use play sand that you can get at any local home depot, lowes. It seems to work real good for me.

I used sifted playsand from home depot when mine was younger...now I use the ground up walnut shells...he was on both for over a year with no problems

When I get my Beardies I will use Paper Towlsbecuse they are easier to clean, safer, etc. :D

How old is your beardie? I prefer keeping hatchlings on newspaper or paper towels at first. Sand is fine with an older specimen.

Well, I might be getting a beardie soon (my son has one) and I just wanted to know what everyone is using.
