I went to the pet store today to get the crickets for my frog and toad, and we always walk around while the lady is getting our supply. Everytime I go there I walk into the snake room and look around..they do not have many. I always saw this head peeking out from under a newspaper, but never really took much interest. It looked like an anery corn. Today I asked about it and she said it was just some plain little grey ratsnake that a woman brought in last year because her sone was not caring for it properly. I asked to see it. She brought out a very nice anery motley corn snake. Its tail was partly missing, but other than that very healthy. I do not know if it is a male of female, but it is approx 2yrs old.. She said the owner just wanted $30.00 for it...well guess who now has a nice anery motley with a short tail
Its new name is Treasure..we will learn sex tomorrow I will post pic as soon as she gets used to her larger home.

Here she is...
I am going to breed her next year to my sisters motley ghost. Then I am raising a Striped Motley Anery for her mate.

What a great find!!
I missed the original post...but very nice.

Amazing what can happen when people don't know what they've got.

Thanks Derek

I think she is pretty special...especially after living under a single piece of newspaper in a 10 gal tank her entire life.
She has really adapted to out house...bedding, hide, and room to stretch out. This pic does not show it, but she is very very dark almost black.

I can see that...she looks VERY dark...if her dorsal pattern weren't so obvious, you would almnost think she was a pewter.

Very pretty snake...

Good thing she got a good home...and you got a good breeder...

How much of her tail is missing?

Not too much..I'd say about an inch or less...nothing to interfer with breeding...my husband calls her stubby...no imagination
