I was thinking about gettiing a red tail boa and i was wonderig can they go off of eating like BP's . Because I don't feel like going through that again.

All of my boas, whether they are the central americans or colombians eat very well. I have only had one that would not eat for a while, but he came around in less than a month. In my opinion and experiences boas have always eaten more consistently than balls.

Agreed. Paul and I have kept both boas and balls, and the boas will take food more readily and consistently than a ball python. The caveat is that boas require more heat to digest than a ball, and will be terribly glad to return that meal to you if they aren't warm enough.

as long as you've got the cage setup correctly, boas are cake.

it's as easy as following directions!!!

Any BCI i've ever kept has been like a garbage disposal .. eating anything that got close. I've never had any problems with feeding BCI's

Boas in general as stated above as long as basic requirements are met are generally hardy eaters. Maybe cause most boas get to be a good size they dont like to miss the chance for a good meal LOL!

I have had my first boa for about 2 weeks and just love the way it feeds no nonsense like. I threw the mouse in there and bam it was constricted. My ball pythons jerk my expectations around and then don't eat it. Obviously I am quite happy with the way my boa eats.

i have never had a problem with any snake eat not a ball or a boa or an anaconda. all my snakes eat well and never have a problem.

I think it’s safe to say that a Boa as well as a Ball Python will eat well if the proper care is given.
