Well, I was nervous all morning, waiting for three hours by the door in order to be sure that I would not miss my special delivery. Finally I couldn't hold out any more and had to use the bathroom, I came back to barely catch the delivery company in time! Talk about bad timing!
Anyways, the new guy is here and he is beautiful, but hard to capture in pictures, heres what I got anyways (he looks 1,000x better in real life, imagine that!?!):

And I love the tail on this guy!!!

He is in a rubbermaid now and I thought that I'd throw a pic up for any critiques, I did already switch the green bowl for a shallower hide (planting dish) so I guess this pic is already outdated!

And finally, this one here is just for size reference! (yes that ruler is only one foot!)

Well, I guess that's all for now, but if you can't tell (by all the exclamation points!!!) that I'm excited, then this post was unsuccessful...
Thanks for looking,
Brent Strande

He's gorgeous. I love albino boas, I really want one someday. I plan to get a boa when I get my first duty station. I wouldn't mind a regular but would really like an albino. <3 :D

very very beautiful..If you dont mind me asking where did yopu aquire him????

Well, if you are inquiring as to who bred him, I don't know exactly. He was purchased by Mike at ChameleonChondo. Mike bought a few at wholesale, testing the market for selling them, before buying more. All that I know of the breeder is that his name is Steve.
I guess that it may have been a better idea to buy directly from the breeder, but I think that he's doing great now. He has only ate so far if its a live small fuzzy mouse, but am gonna switch him over to rats real soon.
I'm actually starting an albino project and have this male, two het females (one a buddy owns), and then the pair of possible hets that I won from Alex!

Looks great!
I used to love redtails but had a bad experience with one getting bit on the head badly and just cant bring myself to getting another.
I feed f/t now, but makes me sad everytime i see one. =(

hey Army Girl.. What's a duty station?
hey Pin Head... was it bit on the head by a live rat?
I feel like the annoying little kid from down the street who just won't shut up.

no it was a live mouse. when the snake struck it it didnt get it at a good spot and the mouse bent and...
Was very upsetting.

very nice I love albinos. Exceptional one too I might add, Don't take it so hard on the bite to the head. A reason not to feed live prey. Don't let it get you down. I had a nice 4 year old female 8 feet long and ready to breed with my male when I divoreced and the judge let her have the female and I got the male. She is so bent out of shape too that she won't even let me breed it to my male. Bad thing is they are both het for albino !00% and snow 25 %. :(

I know it isn't pleasant to talk about pinhead, but do you mind if I ask if you were in the room when your snake was bit? This is an ongoing debate in my life right now so I am collecting as much information as I can about the benefits to both live and f/t feedings.
Either way I am very sorry to hear about you red tail :( Hopefully you will be able to feel better about it and get another one someday :)

hey alias you must have liked the whole putting the mouse in a index finger thumb chocke hold ehh?either the mouse or the snake and well the mouse cost 59cents......
Alias47
08-31-2004, 05:04 PM
Oh yeah, the choke hold is sweet.
I had a friend YEARS ago with a huge burmese...instead of stunning his rats and fluffy baby bunnies...
he would pull their incisors out with pliers before feeding his snake.
It was really brutal.
He was sort of a sadist...and a drummer in a death metal band.
It was seriously hardcore though.

wow dude ummm....thats kinda freaky and a little sick...im not really sure what else to say im just......froze off what i just read
Alias47
09-02-2004, 07:14 AM
Yeah it was SERIOUSLY sick.
I could have never done it...
There is no way in hell.
But he had a 14 foot burmese and wanted no chance of injuring his snake.
This was in the days before frozen/thawed internet orders, his snake wouldn't eat P/K, and a big rat like that is hard to keep stunned.
His snake's feeding response triggered by the movement, at least for the most part.
I had a buddy with a 4.5 foot Spectacled Cayman, he would stun his rats GOOD and as soon as that cayman hit them the first time, they wouldn't be stunned anymore. (They would be scrambling for dear life!)

LOL, 14 foot python needs little help killing rats/rabbits, why would someone do that to a rabbit with there bare hands. Sounds to me, kinda cruel and unnecessary. ehh
Alias47
09-03-2004, 05:31 PM
I was DEFINITELY CRUEL, and probably unnessecary...but he didn't want the rats/rabbits to have any chance to bite his snake.
As big as the rats were...if the snake didn't get a good shot on it...the rats would have gotten a damn good bite on the snake.
It was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen done to an animal.
