I received an e-mail from a friend in Texas and he said he was out snake hunting. I guess he and his brother go out looking to see what they can find. I guess you would call it field herping. Does anyone here do this..I know one of the moderators does because she posted pics.
Anyone else? And what do you find and were do you look?

I go just about every day! I have some tin layed out for snakes and I know of some good rocky places to look. You can also just go walking and come across a black rat. I usally find black racers, black rats, northern waters, queen snakes, sometimes an eastern milk, i fine tons of eastern gaters to.

Whenever I go fishing with my dad an brothers down at the river, I always find northern water snakes, timber rattlers, garter snakes, bull snakes, all sorts. This one water snake seems to really be interested in people, he follows you when you walk along the shore and he likes to play with your bobber. lol!
