Hey Ken...I've got a question for you...
I acquired a rosy boa yesterday. You can see pics here: http://www.alexhuereptiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=777
Anyway, I was wondering if they need UVB lighting. Mine didn't have a UVB light with its enclosure, so I wasn't sure if they need it or not.
Also, are there any good resources for learning more about them? Books or sites you recommend?

Too cute! I love sand boas.
CornCrazy, rosies do not *need* UVB lighting, but I have heard they grow faster with it-but that could just be a rumor.

Thanks Cat! I just wanted to make sure he had everything he needed. This is only my second snake that is not a colubrid so I do not know much about them, yet. I used to have a BP, and I knew they didn't have to have UVB lighting, but I wasn't sure about the rosies.

UVB is really only needed for herbivores. I know my rosys do OK with out UVB.
