I was just turned on to this web site, I dont know if any of you guys have ever seen/purchased from it : www.reptiletubs.com

They sell every size of rubbermaid type plastic bins imaginable including a 52 inch long x 20 inch wide platic bin!

You use them? How do you think the VE-175's would do in a rack system, what about using them for red eared slider enclosure? I plan on getting some in the future, but it's good to know how well they work before purchasing them.

I think they are better than rubermaid allthough there is not to much of a differance.I like the fact that they have the larger tubs availible.I built a couple of racks for the 52" tubs and they are nice...I would highly recomend there tubs for a rack.As for turtles..I dont know anything about them.My focus is strictly with snakes.I know those locks on those tubs are pretty damn strong..

What type of heating do you use with the tubs?
Also do you use a thermostat to control the temps, if so ... what thermostat?
Do you use more then one to control the numbers, or only one thermostat for the entire rack?

Well we have all the tubs in the racks heated at the back with 11" flexwatt heat tape..We have only built 2 racks for these tubs with 4 to a rack..As far as a thermostat i use the GCS thermostat on these and well most of my cages also..Go to wantapet.com and click on reptiles you will see there ad pop right up just click on it...You can control up to 4 different heating elements at 1 time with a single thermostat..As far as the smaller tubs from reptile tubs..They seem to lock well and work good for nenonates..
