I have been working on a piece for awhile trust me it is more complex than it looks. playing with lighting and efffects and taking objects from one picture and putting it n there without it looking fake.

so I have now been starng at this too long and before i finish it up and post in in my online gallery I wanted to have some of yu check it out and see if it's missing soemthing constructive ideas welcome but may not be used just looking for a fresh pair of eyes.

It looks great, Mike.. but there's something about the lighting on the rose's leaves ..to the right... like it isn't true or ?? ..lack of source makes it seem out of place, but I'm not sure what to do about it as darkening the leaves or removing the light may take too much away from the picture, itself.

Overall, though, I really like it ...even the syringe..

yep worked on the leaves but it is actually natural light from original pic and just doesnt look right when i try to darken it so left it and its not to bad an eye sore.may try to dd some texture and it may darken it.

yeah the picture itself goes with a short poem about death ill post the complete version when its done but basically symbolizes that some die by the needle, the blade, or as the rose signifies (love) I know corny but it kind of works.

Looks like a cover for one of those Call Of Duty xbox games.... would be pretty cool to get your work plastered across the front of one of those!

couldn't you raise that end of the siringe to help cover the leaves some. It is transparent so they would still be seen but not as obvious with the lighting thing. It looks kinda out of place and you almost miss it where it is. The knife and rose are so bold that it would suck for it to end up part of the back ground. Just a thought.
I do like the way it is turning out though and cant wait to see the finished product.

So hurry up and get to working on it. lol

The light is from the left and touches the rose and the knife tip. It has a source.

I missed that it was a syringe until it was mentioned. It had not true shape for me...too faded.

I can't see into your head so I'm not sure what you are going for, but it is beautiful and tragic.

I think I may know that poem ..it's very soulful, indeed.

The lighting on the rose's leaves look like a bear to try and correct without taking too much other away from the overall.. so yes, I would leave it there, as well. Your average "joe" is not going to notice it, anyway. The content is awesome ..and that will carry over any minute indiscrepancy with light, in my opinion. :nerd:

It's great, Cool Mike! :becky:

oh yeah i am stoked. had an epiphone last night nd worked on this till wee hours of morning and some more today. add some layers textures and a new trick to darken up the leaves. tweaked the syringe and the rose itself. added a bit more ambience to make the whole thing darker and bring t together its just about done in my book.

gonna try and make an animation to show how much goe into this.

Mike, I can't see a difference between the first pic and the third. Is it me or did you post the wrong one somewhere?

THERE IT IS!!!!

How about "Dance of Acceptance"?

Well I liked your suggestin but shortened it to just "ACCEPTANCE"

here is the poem that goes with it. yes its original work....and although not the best ie ever done helps explain the pic

Acceptance

With all those that are given life this much is true.

Death comes to us all.

Some by the needle,
some by the blade,
others by the beauty of love

Whether prince or pauper
beauty or freak

None shall escape the the one who reaps

BTW, I matted your pic and am using it as my computer background. I hope you don't mind. If it bothers you, though, I will take it off. 1744
