Kansas City, MO show

Anybody going to the Kansas City, MO show this weekend? It's being held at the KC Airport Hilton on Sunday, Sep 28th...10:00am to 4:00pm. Kare and I will be vending there. :bounce:

Just got back from the KC show a few hours ago...had to put all the snakes back in their warm tubs. Apparently, I was the only person there...lol! Well, ok...there were a few other people too. Sad to say though, the KC show is but a weak shadow of it's former self. As recently as 4 years ago, the people would line up outside the door before opening time and it would be elbow to elbow in the room for the first 3 hours! But now....(sigh), no line...people just trickle in. I don't know the official head count, but I doubt it was more than 250. I don't know what's happened to the show...where are the people going now?? It didn't help that the Chiefs football, Royals baseball, and Nascar were ALL in town that day!

I did manage to sell a few snakes and leos, enough to barely cover my costs of going there. Maybe it's the economy, but I hope this show doesn't fold (which it will if they can't get attendence up).

Well, Omaha next!

The one show I did at Taylor was awful. I think I made $20 after table. The next week it was so packed you could barely move. At least I didn't have to go far to get there. (half hour drive)

I think part of the problem with shows is their timing.... putting them on when football is in town or kids going back to school or right before Christmas or some other high profile event is on is just plain dumb!
