What should the breeding weight be on these hypo brooks kings? Should I expect them to be bigger than corns or just burmate them and see what happens....the male right now is 200 grams and the female is at 240 grams....breedable next spring by corn standards but they look so small next to some of my older corns...LOL

LOL! You think I weigh those things?!? I like to get them into their third year and they are usually good to go. I can't compare to corns, 'coz I don't have any to compare to. Scott says he doesn't weigh either, he just waits til they are over 2. He has had some small girls lay some nice clutches. All I can offer is keep feeding them until Nov. and decide to brumate or keep feeding. The floridana I have (adults) are over 5 and the young 'uns are 3 now, so they all will be in brumation this winter. The yearlings and 2 year olds, I'll probably keep feeding thru winter (if they don't all sell)
Sorry I can't be more help.

I only weighed them because I was cleaning and moving things around trying to decide what is going to be burmated so I put them into different containers out of the rack so they will be set to go...I will just play it close when the time comes the last few weeks of October (if it is going to be cold enough that is)...

It'll be cold enough! Those are Florida kings...60-65 degrees overwinter will be cool enough. They would probably breed for you at those weights, but the clutches will be small...4-6 eggs. I like to wait till they're 2.5-3 years old. I don't know weights, but at that age, they're over 3' long and at least as thick as my thumb.

Yeah at 60-65 they will be able to get there, the other corns I like to have in the mid 50's but I don't always get that in my burmation closet until late november sometimes...but judging the crazy weather this year it will probably be 20 by thanksgiving...LOL
