so worse has come to worse. I need money for some other things and reptile projects I really want to work with. I can't find anyone around here I trust enough to do a breeder loan, and nobody I know has a female salmontine or salmon or even argentine, that as spoken up at least, lol. so I think this sunday at the show I'm taking my male and putting him up for sale, which sucks. argentines are hands down my favorite boas but I don't have the space or cash to get an adult female ready for this season.
I guess my main question is, how much are adult salmontines going for these days. He's 4 years old and I got him for around $450 if I remember right, but I know prices change. I can't find anything comparable on kingsnake, everything is neos. he's a real stunner, better than most salmontines I usually see.
any info would help.

I don't know anything about prices for them, but I am really sorry you have to sell him and postpone this project for later. He's such a beautiful boy! Good Luck!

I am real sorry that you are finding your self in this possition.
I know from experience that selling off your animals really sucks.
Good luck at the show.

Ugh~ you guys are KILLING ME!!! It just BREAKS MY HEART seeing so many AHR family members having to let go of their babies like this!!! I don't have the information you're looking for either~ I just hope like hell that you can find the perfect female for your project (somehow) before you do make the final sale!
More dashed dreams... It's heartbreaking!

I have a salmon girl that will be ready in 3-4 years that he can be paired up with if you find a way to keep him...not an Argentine but a salmon from this years clutch that I'm holding back...

it does suck, but the dream wouldn't have been dashed if the guy had sold me a female like I had paid for..... if only I would have sexed it at the time.

lol, 3-4 years I'll have graduated (possibly) and by then could afford to get the ones I need now. It's not that I'm desperate for cash, I've been debating back and forth if I want to provide the space for another boa, and knowing that I may have to downscale room size when I move out of here next year, it's just not the smartest decision to get another one. so I can throw the false waters into the bigger cages, still keeping the conda as a pet only snake, and hopefully selling him will give me some money for two projects I've always dreamed of.... cat eyed snakes and mangroves.. the only problem is finding pairs of each.

Well when you get the mangroves worked out let me know....still been eyeballing the false water cobras so when you get them breeding put me down for a trio...but keep me away from the cat eyes...one I have always wanted to work with but never found them and had money at the same time...
Hopefully you will have good luck in selling him and finding what you want!
And by the way you will not be graduated in 3-4 years you are always going to be college Mike Van Basset to us.....

I tried checking them out but most of the links on their site don't go anywhere, including their "available" and "breeders" so I can't see what they work with.

I looked up Cat Eyed Snakes and I have to say, I'm surprised they are not a lot more common. They look like the same kind of disposition as a corn snake, hoggie or kingsnake type... And very pretty too...

I should restate, cat eyed snake is kind of a common name for a few diff snakes all over the world. I've really wanted the south african ones. especially the greens and yellows. The only ones I've seen available are from mfezi.com, but he's only had one at a time and they're typically very young and difficult feeders.

I did see some pics of the green ones as well as ones that are orange and brown kind of spot patterned. They're cool and the literature says they're pretty evenly dispositioned.
When you do finally start that project it will be fun to see the pictures and read about your experiences.
