I have read like 6 diff articles on breeding them...
but i still havnt found the answer to a few of my questions...

1) Can i use one male with more than one female?
---- I read that the male stays in with the female for a while, but not one that said if i could have one male to two females... so yeah

2) Is there an average to the babies for certain sized females?
---- Like, how many is max for a 5 foot female vs. a almost 8 foot female...
~ because i dont want to breed my big girl if she will throw 40 some odd babies in her first litter... but if i can only breed one, im breeding him to my small girl... so i just want to know what to expect... (i will prolly just breed one, because i DO NOT want to over load myself with babies lol)

3) attitude wise, i have read that females are vicious and protect their babies like crazy.... personally, i dont want to be slammed by my big female, are these chances like 100 % that she will be pissy after she gives birth?

3.1) on that note, what are the chances of the female staying mean? or do they go back to normal?

4) i have read that the gestation for boas can be hard to be 100% on, is this true?

Thanks! so far thats all that has come to mind, any other tips/help would be great, i know i have some time, but i really want to be totally ready and prepared :D

I may not be the best person to answer since my one successful breeding this season was accidental....

From all the stuff I looked up and tried to figure out I will answer what I can until someone with more knowledge comes along....

Normally there is no set number of babies but the rule of thumb would be that a bigger older female would be able to produce more eggs so you would end up with more from the bigger one....

It is extremely stressful on the females, I lost 2 of my females this last season...something as simple as the cage just being moved can stress them enough to not breed or worse as with my case I believe...

My female that dropped the babies was angry but not that bad...get a good hook....she will be pissy so be prepared....she has had one hell of an appetite since she dropped but normal for the most part...she is always on the prowl for food now though....

From what I understand the males can have more than one mate but normally the male has to court the female to death before she allows him to breed....that being said it can tire out a male and overwork him...I had only planned for my male to breed one of the females but he was in for the long haul with the other one so I let him....so all in all he breed 3 females this last season....

They are proving to be more than what I expected with the breeding....I was 110% ready to completely get out of boas when I lost the 2nd female...but I gave in with the charm and personality they have and kept them around...

Good luck!!!

yeah, i plan on getting her set up in the cage i just got with the male, i got all the stuff to seal it and stuff... so now its just finding a place that i can stain/seal it lol

you were deff a bunch of help, just because i dont want to over load myself, i will prolly only breed the smaller female... not to mention shes got the lighter qualities too...
