What boredom and rats bring me to...

Hahha. so i video'd Mira eating... well, mostly the strike/swallow parts... ahha and yeah... here it is... the rat was stunned... thats how shes used to them, and i figured a med rat wouldnt hurt her...
[by the way, my dad doesnt watch my snakes eat ever... he is the one that makes noise when she struck... i didnt make a noise...]

Thanks, i found a guy on ks that has feeders ava... hopefully next time i feed her it will be a jumbo rat or a bunny or something...

you should have seen my dad after she struck!
ahahha it was hysterical.

it doesnt phase me any more but dad jumped ahha even tho i was right next to the cage and he was sitting about 5 feet away from it lol

That was a really cool video sara thanks! I love my rats but still we're keeping predators here and part of that is feeding them prey. Much as it might suck sometimes that's the way it goes :evil:

people on the other forum said i shouldnt stun the rat but i should choose between f/t and live...

and i was like uh ok fine, planning on switching to f/t but didnt have one big enough and uhh yeah... hardly any one that commented it finished the vid lol

Ehhh, I'm not necessarily for stunning but I've done it before in certain situations where I had mice that were way too out of control and would have hurt my snake if I had tried to feed them. In all situations my snake comes first no matter what. I don't believe in causing unnecessary pain to the rat/mouse but the damn thing is getting eaten in a few seconds anyways so if he/she's got a headache :wacko: for that amount of time I can live with that on my conscience :puke::violin:

I wasnt so much worried the rat would hurt her, shes huge, but things happen, and the rat was the only big one and she tried to bite me when i picked her up... otherwise i wouldnt have worried about it really... lol
