Somebody said that people are crossing the two. Is it possible and what would be the point. Would you get a larger rat with less odor or a smaller rat that stinks? Thought it was interesting and so curious.
Not sure if it's really possible because of the size difference. A full grown ASF rat is only the size of a weaned regular rat. If they have done it I'd like to see pics but they would obviously have to cross a male ASF with a female 'normal' rat.

I have been trying to google it and have found nothing. I am starting to think this person is full of it.

well if and i mean IF they did it, it might happen cause a male will breed with any female rat and a female rat when IN will want to breed. but i never heard of a ASF and a normal rat together.

Not possible, ASF's are already a cross between rats in mice when you break them down or at least for a lack of a better way to explain it, also toss a rat or mouse pink in with a nursing ASF and see what happens....but I do have a bridge I can sell you if you want....

Thanks. Don't need a bridge or an ASF X rat. Just thought it would be interesting if you could get the size without the smell.
