Awhile back this girl spent one night with the salmon male when there was some rack/caging issues....I wasn't planning on breeding her since I thought she was to small/young but I guess they hatched a plan when I wasn't looking....couldn't even give you a date since I didn't have it down anywhere because honestly I missed them breeding and she has eaten every week except last sunday and she is in there pounding down a rat as I type...just lucky today is feeding day and I do spot cleaning and water when I feed them because I didn't see anything though the side of the cage at all....I think I opened and closed the container 4 times before I understood what I was looking at...

5 live (2 salmon pastels, 3 normals), 2 still borns and one slug....I didn't sex them yet since I didn't want to stress them out and I am still feeding....

Was at work today and call Jeff on the way home. He tells me I have a surprise when I get here. So I rack my brain and call him back to ask if we have BP eggs. He tells me no that I'd never guess and he's still in shock. It was really hard to drive home within the speed limit.

They are all really great looking and I was blown away. Great surprise!

Congratulations, you two!! They're all gorgeous babies!! :D

Scott it is good to see the male prove out....and just bring the paper work in Oct....I don't think anything is going anywhere to fast....lol

Jenea I like the circles on the backs of those 2 also....I am going to give them a few days and once I get a shed I will pop them to see what they all are...would like to see at least one female out of the 2 pastel salmons to raise up....

Aminah I will let you know once they all get a few meals in them....

I am only planning on keeping one of the pastel salmons if one is a female, but that being said if either turn out to show excellent color after they shed then I may change my mind...lol

Cool. Those are some great looking boas. I think you are the only person I know who could get a litter out of a boa without ever trying. :) Congrats to the two of you. Hope you had fun cleaning the slime ball! :amen:

Thanks Gina and Kare.....

Gina the salmon is pretty much a complete dominate hypo gene so there is a lack of black pigment....look at the tails and you will see the black rings....at least that is the way that I understand it....the is alot of variation with the first 2 compared to the 3rd so I really can't wait to see what they all look like after a shed or two....

Kare I did NOT have fun cleaning her mess up....it was one of the most disgusting things I have ever experienced....I would rank it at least 2 times worse than a regurgated rat....lol

Oh WOW....effortless breeding....gotta love that! When I put the Jackson's together I hope that happens....thats the only thing I have that does live birth....I've got eggs all over the place and I all I do is wait and wait and wait for them to hatch! Congratulations...they are beautiful!

MUHAHAHAHA
Think about how wonderful the slime ball would be if she had been a large girl and gave birth to about 25 slimy crawlers!!!!! You shouldn't have a problem dealing with it, afterall, you've been crawling under the house alot, lately! hehehe:peace:

His mind is already telling him to keep another one or two. LOL

Congrats Jeff, see before you were just trying to hard.

Obviously he was. LOL Hope it works that easily again. But now that Jeff's proven he can bred boas I figure more will be in our future.

Jeff you could have put those boa eggs in my incubator there is a little room left in one of them I think..

That is awesome that you got some babies, now you won't have to steal those white things that came out of my BP's butt over the weekend..

Oh and PS..No I don't want any!

So what is standard market value for a Salmon (het Salmon, right)?

Wait~ if it IS a Salmon but was made by 1/2 Salmon 1/2 Normal then is it still 50% het for Salmon even though it IS one?

Salmon babies I think are right around 200-300 right now....

The father is a pastel salmon and the mother is a normal...

It is a dominate gene so there is no het...but there is a super...for lack of a better way of explaining it think of the pastels in ball pythons ( I know they are just co dominate but....) when you breed one to a normal you get some pastels and some normals no hets...if you breed 2 together you get a 25% chance with each egg it will be a super pastel...with these you breed a salmon to a normal you will get a 50/50 split down the middle with the babies...half salmon and half normal....
