help!

Hey everyone-
I am worried about my crested- tonight my boyfriend took him out and he got a little bit scared because he only really likes to be handled by me.... all of a sudden he lifted his butt up and these two red and white "cones" came out of his bum...they were pointed down to the right and left. I have no idea what this is....I read about a hemipenis and stuff, but I am really worried that this is something worse!
This has never happened before, which is why I am so worried. He is behaving completely normal, eating, sleeping....I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but it happened very fast and he pulled it right back in and then licked the area after. He seemed fine- went right back to sleep.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

LMFAO Sorry!!! It soulds like he tried to mate with your boyfriend! I wouldn't worry about it. He's just mature and looking for a mate.

Two "red cones" :pound: :pound: ...okay, yeah.. those are his hemipenes ...and yes, does sound like he really likes your boyfriend :heh:

Males of any species are a little "off", but that's a whole 'nuther discussion :tongue: ..Crested males have a tendency to get "freaky" with whatever and whomever tickles their whistle... I have a few weird kids here!

When you see his hemipenes in the future.. and you likely will... just always be careful they go back in all the way when he's done doing what he does. If ever they do not, he needs to see a vet quick!

Thanks everyone for the quick reply- I seriously thought his insides were coming out!!! They did go right back in, so I guess there's nothing to worry about yet.
I guess this is sort of happening because he developed REALLY late- he's about 4 years old and he just "showed himself" about a month ago :S Apparently there's more than just a lump under the tail that goes along with it....lol.
