I bought 3 of my Beardies about 3 years ago as hatchlings from Dachiu. I got a male and a female at the same time to go along with the female I already had and then I got Bob (studmuffin) from a breeder who was getting out of Bearded Dragons at a show in Dallas. So all this time, I've had this male named Boo2....well it's a miracle because he laid 15 eggs during the night! He's a SHE! Crap....I thought he was just a lot younger than Bob and wasn't as well developed....actually Boo might be a hermaphrodite....because it doesn't look like totally like a female either. They are all in separate enclosures and none of them have been together for over a year. I put the eggs in the freezer this morning when I found them.
I've been waiting for him/her to poop so I can send off a fecal for EM testing for Adenovirus...he/she has not been cooperative at all. It's always dried out when I find it and I can't get him/her to go in the water when soaking. For the last week there have been tiny poops like Elvira does before she laid all THREE TIMES this year. He/She has always looked bloated...now I'm worried that she's been absorbing the eggs....Etouffee, the first female I got from Dachiu died last year from for dystocia with egg-yolk peritonitis, so I'm keeping a close eye on Boo.
Geeze...I feel like a complete idiot - pondering over why he stays so fat and he's/she's not eating any more than the others - thought he had a slow metabolism or something.
At least I know for sure that I have 1.2 Bearded Dragons now and hopefully if the AV testing is negative we'll breed next year and really want the eggs that are laid!
