Thought I'd post the stock pics since it'll be a bit before they get here. This is my blue-eyed blonde pair's baby pics -- they're yearlings now. I bought them 2 weeks ago but temps have to come up before they can be shipped.

Male:

Female:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/RavaFlava/kingsnakes/bldF5654.jpg

This what they will look like all grown up, a lavendar satin color that looks like coffee with creamer in it, and lemon yellow bands:

And I finally found one of the striped chocolate kings I was looking for -- two actually. I bought this male last night:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/RavaFlava/kingsnakes/st_bw_05_m_lg.jpg

And then found this male, which I think I'm also going to get as a backup:

Now if I could just find a dang female...and a page that discusses kingsnake morphs...

I've wanted the BEB Cali kings since last year, just was too focused on my ball pythons. When I got another settlement from the VA last month, I decided to finally get them. So far, no one else has them but Vivid as far as I know. They're really awesome animals, I can't wait for them to arrive. Both the chocolate striped boys are proven breeders and their stripes are genetic. The one I bought last night is from a guy who is going to a show this weekend, so he's going to try to find a matching female for me while he's there.

Scott purchased an adult pair of Blue eyed Blondes last year in Omaha, from a friend leaving the herp business to take care of elderly parents. They are being put together, so time will tell if they produce some good eggs. If so, they will be available by Tinley. We also have Ruby Eyed Lavenders, Banded Albino, Striped Albino, Normal Banded and the Dit Dots - some yearlings from last year, and of course, the eggs that have yet to hatch. (finger crossed, although I am NOT looking forward to all the poop duty!) Could be a very busy summer!

Holy crap, I completely didn't see that! LMFAO! :hippie:

Kare, you have what I want! (the lavendars and the striped albinos) Do you know if your blue eyed blondes are from the same line as Vivid's? If not, I may want a pair of babies at Tinley to diversify the bloodline. Is it dominant or recessive?

LOL the BEB are from G. Merker stock. Not sure on Vivid's. They are a recessive trait. (lavender is the "pretty" name for hypomelanistic) I'll try to get some pics up of the kings we currently have. We're getting ready for a spring show in Omaha, so are trying hard to get things organized. (not easy, if you know my roomy!)

Here's the big boy I had gotten, and the little itty bitty female that came with him:

They both like to rattle their tails and bite.

You are aware that your boy is of desert origins and the girl is coastal, right? If you breed them the babies will be what I call Ivory, neither the yellow of the coastal phase nor the clean white of the desert phase but sort of a mix, like old ivory piano keys.

They look nice, Jen. I'd suggest feeding them. LOL. Babies are ALWAYS hungry!
Are they het for lavender? Boy is a striped desert phase and girl is a striped coastal phase, otherwise they don't look lavender to me, of course, I can't see the eyes too well. Are the eyes red?

Now, yes, but when I bought them, no -- that wasn't explained to me until after I'd gotten them. Everyone I asked regarding chocolate colored kings didn't have an answer for me (or didn't want to take the time, like a certain person whose first name starts with B and last name ends with "Gate"
:moodbanghead:

I don't know what I'm going to do with these guys yet. As I learn more about how king genetics work, I have to plan things out.

Kare, no, they're just regular kings -- no hets for anything.

Those BEB's are beautiful! They have a lot of clean banding ..and the dot on that girly's head is CUTE! I like the chocolate boy'o with his smiley face head, too! Good luck finding womenzz for them!

The desert and coastal newbies are sweet.. and probably just hungry, as Kare mentioned. LOL Every King I've ever met has been a tail rattler and a bitey beast ..with HUGE feeding response! :heh:

It cracks me up to see something so small think she's so tough. The boy is kind of blah about it, he does it because he thinks he has to, but doesn't put much effort into it. Once you pick him up, he's fine. The girl goes nuts with that tail and chases my hand around trying to bite. She's the cutest thing I've ever seen -- how can people think these guys are ugly/gross/scary? They're so adorable!

 Uh huh! The addiction has begun....kings are easy to keep, easy to feed and have a huge variety of patterns and colors.

Oh yes, that's all I look at online these days and read about. I'm so geeked to get these Carlsbad babies and get into the various lavendars/albinos. The guy that has the Carlsbad stripers has a lot of other cool king projects, so I hope to get more from him. Like he has a morph called chocolate (it's solid brown with a slight banded patterning visible), and he mixed it with blizzard to make an entirely solid milk chocolate colored king. He has a bunch of others too.

Now is THIS a true lavendar from one of the two lines? This is an adult Cali king labeled a "lavendar" that is at a rescue and I'm trying to get him/her.

That's a lavendar, or rubyeye albino.

If you're serious about variety, I've got some yearlings for sale that will produce all kinds of pattern morphs and one of the girls is het for rubyeye.

Check them out here.http://www.alexhuereptiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21940

Well, I got approved to adopt that lavendar! I go pick him/her up this weekend. I think it might be a true lavendar, or even a blue-eyed blonde, I swear I see a blue iris in that pic. I definitely don't think it's albino, but I have to wait and see it in person. I'm really excited to get it -- male or female, doesn't matter, it's really gorgeous and even better because it came from rescue.
