Just wondering what the best stuff to use for a chip/chunk in the shell? He's in no medical danger, but I need to smooth this out to make my nine year old daughter happy....
Thanks..

not sure , but i know when we took a sulcata in to the vets for shell surgery , they used some kind of fiberglass to seal where they had to cut .

Yeah I'm just looking for the safest and best epoxy to fill it in. Besides the playdough I tried getting her to let me use....LMAO:dance:

I remember Dr. Fitz on Emergency Vets using a quick dry concrete. Wonder if there is a site about the type?

What kind? The same I used when I put the body kit on my 17 yo daughters car?

from what i saw , it looked just like what i used to use to repair my surfboards . right down to the sheet of fiber . the only thing i can see that would be a possible problem is that the epoxy used with most fiberglass heats up a good bit when it is hardenning .

Looks like it is that stuff from the link from Kare....but I would still be concerned with the fumes....but I may just be over protective...lol

It's a pretty small spot so I don't think heat will be an issue....
I did see in the Melissa Chapman link Kare gave was hoof repair stuff....This sounds like it's probably just what I'm looking for....I'll check at Rural King tomorrow....
If anyone knows for sure let me know though....
Thanks....:peace:

Yeah with everything I could think of, fumes were really bothering me about them....

There is an epoxy filler that is made for repairing horse hooves. Call a ferrier in your area and see if you can get some or go to a local feed store. They may have it also. Or maybe jeffers. Anyway that should be safe to use.

Good luck with your repair job.
