What wattage soldering iron does everyone use to put holes in their rubbermaids? I currently use a power drill and that becomes a b!tch not to mention all the rubbermaids u break in the process.

I've been useing a dremmel (spelling) and never had a problem. I cut gashes instead of holes. they're about an inch long and maybe 3mm thick.

I just bought what ever iron the hardware store had. Seems to work great, and I've burnt my fair share of holes

Wattage shouldn't matter dear. They all work the same. We use a one to do our holes in our tubs.

ok thanks. I just didn't know if a certain wattage just wasn't hot enough to do it or what.

Oh trust me I know. I use this olddddd melting gun I've to melt screens onto the tops and boy does it stink melting that much plastic. Never do it in a well ventilated room however I just hold my breath and take breaths as needed as to not inhale too much plastic. I just bought a 25 watt off ebay hopefully it works if not im out 6.00 what do they usually cost in the stores?

Mine I stole from my Dad(an electrcian) But it was his smalest one. It is the size of a screwdriver and heats up in a couple minutes. Pretty low wattage and works great. But ohh yeah stinks the whole house up.

Wow if I knew they were that cheap in stores I would have just gotten one in a store rather than weight 2-3 days for mine to get here in the mail, but I thought $6.00 shipped would be a really good deal. Either way I don't even need it right now haha just a near future thing for the probable 40-50 baby leos I'll have jumping at me VERY soon.
