Western Hognose

The Western hognose snake (Heterodon Nasicus) is a robust and stout species native to the Americas. They prefer sandy dunes and low lying grasslands.

This is and always will be my most favorite colubrid. These guys have great personalities, great temperaments, and are easy to keep/care for.

Temps for this species is 80-82 ambient with a hot spot of around 86-87. Humidity must be kept very low for this species to thrive and do well. We rotate out water dishes every 2-3 days in order to keep humidity levels down.

Captive hatched and raised babies do very well on rodents although some may have to be offered toad scented pinkies to start.

We currently have one of the most diverse collections of Western Hognose and work with various colors and patterns including, albinos, yellows, greens, reds and jungles.
