Leopard Geckos (Eublepharis Macularius) is probably the most kept
species at this time. They are a hardy species that stays a manageable
size with a great disposition. Not too mention that they are capable of
living 15-20 years and then some when the proper caging and feeding
requirements are met.
We keep our colonies at 85 degrees ambient and also provide a hot spot
of 95. They feed on crickets, meal worms, wax worms, and the occasional
pinkie mouse. This is a very prolific species that breeds readily in a
captive environment. Leopard geckos definitely make a great first
reptile to have.
There are currently numerous colors and patterns available that any
keeper advanced or beginner will find appeal in. We breed and keep just
about everyone ranging from normal/wild types through the most
sought after "collector" investment grade Leopard Geckos. It seems as if
every year something new and exciting pops up in leopard gecko
propagation.
